TEXANS, WE HAVE A TRUCKLOAD OF THANK YOUS TO DELIVER! 

Let’s cover our Sam Houston teachers with Sweet Teacher Shoutouts! Each qualifying shoutout gives National PTA another opportunity to see the incredible teachers serving our Texans — and 30 PTAs will receive $1,250 to celebrate an exceptional teacher. 

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SHOUTOUT COUNT:

1. Choose ONE teacher and write about 100 words about what makes them special.

2. Include a photo. You may also include a video under 60 seconds.

3. Submit it in one of TWO ways:
   → Comment directly on National PTA’s official Sweet Teacher Shoutouts Facebook post
   OR
   → Make your own PUBLIC Facebook post and tag @NationalPTA.

4. Tag Sam Houston Elementary PTA AND write “Sam Houston Elementary PTA” in your entry.

5. Include #ThankATeacher #SweetTeachers.

⭐ IMPORTANT: If you post from your own Facebook page, the post must be PUBLIC. Private or friends-only posts are not eligible for review. 

Don't want to publicly identify your family with Sam Houston? We understand! Send your story and photo to us and we can share the shoutout from the Sam Houston PTA page. 

One teacher per shoutout, but there is no limit to how many teachers we can celebrate. Let's fill that truck! 

PTA Membership Opens on August 1. We have exciting news for our student members this year - when you join, add your students. They will not want to miss a special opportunity available to them! 

Spirit Wear preorders open on August 1 - We will keep the preorder open until later in the month before sending the order to print. Spirit Wear will be shipped to the school and delivered to the classroom. We thank you for your patience and understanding. This helps us keep costs low. The PTA does not maintain an inventory at any time. 

Please order your yearbook and we would love to have your first-day pictures sent to us to be included in the yearbook! Email them to yearbook@samhoustonpta.com.

We are excited to help our school unpack, organize, and get settled into our new space! From the moment the first box is opened until the doors open to welcome our Texans back, it is going to take a coordinated effort—and we know our Sam Houston community will be ready to help.

Right now, our school administrators are still waiting for the specific details and timeline they need to coordinate volunteers. Until they have information they can share, we hold!
